Photo by Petty Officer 3rd Class Alexandria Preston D8 units work on ICS quals Coast Guard active, reserve and auxiliary personnel completed a two day functional exercise March 10 – 11, which combined participants, observers and coaches from units including Sector Upper Mississippi River, Sector Lower Mississippi River, Base Detachment St. Louis, Base New Orleans and several Auxiliary flotillas. More than 60 participants contributed to the simulated incident command post, including boat forces, command center personnel, and plan reviewers. More than two dozen members made significant progress toward achieving ICS qualifications, including at least four who completed all requirements and were awaiting boards.
